Senior CI/CD Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a thoughtful, hands-on Senior CI/CD Developer to join our Engineering team in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. In this role, you will help shape how software moves from idea to production by designing reliable, secure, and scalable delivery pipelines that support fast development without compromising quality. You will work closely with software engineers, QA, platform teams, and technical leaders to streamline build, test, release, and deployment practices across multiple environments. Key Responsibilities

1. Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support reliable, repeatable, and efficient software delivery.
2. Automate build, test, packaging, and deployment workflows across development, staging, and production environments.
3. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve release processes, reduce bottlenecks, and shorten delivery cycles.
4. Implement infrastructure automation and environment provisioning using scalable, version-controlled approaches.
5. Strengthen pipeline security by embedding secrets management, access controls, and automated compliance checks.
6. Monitor pipeline health, deployment performance, and system reliability, then drive improvements based on insights.
7. Troubleshoot build failures, deployment issues, and environment inconsistencies with a calm and methodical approach.
8. Standardize release practices, branching strategies, and deployment patterns to improve consistency across teams.
9. Partner with developers and QA engineers to integrate automated testing and quality gates into delivery pipelines.
10. Document tooling, workflows, and operational procedures to support transparency, onboarding, and long-term maintainability.

Required Qualifications

1. Several years of experience in CI/CD, DevOps, platform engineering, or a closely related software delivery role.
2. Strong hands-on experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
3. Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
4. Experience with infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
5. Proficiency with scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Python, Groovy, or similar automation-focused languages.
6. Good knowledge of source control workflows, release management practices, and modern branching strategies.
7. Experience working with cloud environments and deployment models across scalable distributed systems.
8. Strong understanding of automated testing, artifact management, and deployment rollback strategies.
9. Familiarity with security best practices in delivery pipelines, including credential management and vulnerability scanning.
10. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across teams and explain technical concepts clearly.

Nice to Have

1. Experience implementing observability tooling using platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
2. Knowledge of policy enforcement, audit readiness, or secure delivery practices in tightly controlled environments.
3. Exposure to service mesh, progressive delivery, blue-green deployments, or canary release strategies.
4. Experience improving developer experience through internal tooling, reusable templates, or self-service platform capabilities.
5. Familiarity with SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and software supply chain security concepts.
6. Previous experience mentoring engineers and helping teams adopt better automation and deployment practices.
